Tenebrae ist ein christlicher religiöser Dienst, der im westlichen Christentum am Abend vor oder am frühen Morgen von Gründonnerstag, Karfreitag und dem Heiligen Samstag gefeiert wurde, die die letzten drei Tage der Karwoche sind. Die unverwechselbare Zeremonie von Tenebrae ist das allmähliche Löschen von Kerzen, während eine Reihe von Lesungen und Psalmen gesungen oder rezitiert wird.
