Sieg in Europa Tag, allgemein bekannt als V-E Tag, VE Tag oder einfach V Tag war der Feiertag, der am 8. Mai 1945 gefeiert wurde, um die formale Annahme durch die Alliierten des Zweiten Weltkrieges von Nazi Deutschlands bedingungsloser Hingabe seiner Streitkräfte zu markieren. So markierte es das Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs in Europa. Am 30. April hat Adolf Hitler, der Nazi-Führer, während der Schlacht von Berlin Selbstmord begangen. Deutschlands Hingabe wurde daher von seinem Nachfolger, Reichspräsident Karl Dönitz, zugelassen. Die Verwaltung von Dönitz wurde als Flensburger Regierung bezeichnet. Die militärische Kapitulation wurde am 7. Mai in Reims, Frankreich und am 8. Mai in Berlin, unterzeichnet.
