In der Physik ist eine Wellenfront der Ort der Punkte mit der gleichen Phase: eine Linie oder Kurve in 2d oder eine Oberfläche für eine Welle, die sich in 3d ausbreitet. Bei Funkwellenlängen wird die Polarisation wichtiger, und die Empfänger sind in der Regel phasensensitiv. Viele Audio-Detektoren sind auch phasensensitiv.
