Elastizitätsmodul
Der Elastizitätsmodul, auch bekannt als Zugmodul oder Elastizitätsmodul, ist ein Maß für die Steifigkeit eines elastischen isotropen Materials und ist eine Menge, die zur Charakterisierung von Materialien verwendet wird. Es ist definiert als das Verhältnis der Spannung entlang einer Achse über die Belastung entlang dieser Achse im Bereich der Belastung, in der Hookes Gesetz gilt. In der festen Mechanik wird die Steigung der Spannungs-Dehnungs-Kurve an jedem Punkt als Tangentenmodul bezeichnet. Der Tangentenmodul des anfänglichen linearen Teils einer Spannungs-Dehnungs-Kurve heißt Young-Modul. Es kann experimentell aus der Steigung einer Spannungs-Dehnungskurve bestimmt werden, die bei Zugversuchen an einer Probe des Materials erzeugt wird. Bei einigen Materialien kann der Elastizitätsmodul in Abhängigkeit von der Richtung der aufgebrachten Kraft in Bezug auf die Materialstruktur unterschiedliche Werte aufweisen. Der Elastizitätsmodul ist der häufigste Elastizitätsmodul, der manchmal auch Elastizitätsmodul genannt wird, aber es gibt auch andere Elastizitätsmodule, wie zB der Massenmodul und der Schermodul. Es ist nach dem britischen Wissenschaftler Thomas Young des 19. Jahrhunderts benannt.
