Zooid
Ein zooid oder zoöid /zoʊ.ɔɪd/ ist ein einzelnes Tier, das Teil eines kolonialen Tieres ist. Die Zooide können entweder direkt durch Gewebe verbunden sein oder ein gemeinsames Exoskelett teilen. Der koloniale Organismus als Ganzes heißt ein Zoon /zoʊ.ɒn/, Plural zoa.
