Proteomik
Proteomik ist eine Wissenschaft, die alle Proteine in einer Zelle oder in einer Population als Ganzes untersucht. Es ist auch ein Bereich der Bioinformatik. Genomik, Transkription, Interphase und so weiter. Während des erfolgreichen Abschlusses des menschlichen Genomprojekts von 2000 bis 2003 waren die gefundenen menschlichen Gene weit weniger als erwartet. Es waren nicht 100.000, sondern 30.000. Dies schien unzureichend zu sein, um alle menschlichen Merkmale auszudrücken. Die Forschung hat gezeigt, dass ein Gen kein einzelnes Protein synthetisiert. Daher kann viel mehr Protein in 30.000 Genen synthetisiert werden. Letztlich ist die Grundeinheit der menschlichen Bioaktivität Protein. Es gibt viele Sorten von Proteinen mit vielen Variationen, und jeder mögliche Proteinsatz für eine funktionelle Einheit heißt Proteom. Die Aufgabe, alle menschlichen Proteasen aufzudecken, ist dem Geheimnis des Lebens einen Schritt näher und ist viel schwieriger als das menschliche Genomprojekt.
