Kamikaze
Kamikaze ist ein japanischer Begriff, der ursprünglich einem Hurrikan gegeben wurde, der Japan vor der Invasion des Mongolischen Reiches bewahrte, indem es die gesamte mongolische Flotte des 13. Jahrhunderts zerstörte. Im internationalen Sprachgebrauch bezieht sich das Wort Kamikaze auf die sterbende Luftwaffe des japanischen Kaiserreichs und seinen Angriff auf die Schiffe der Alliierten Macht in den letzten Jahren des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Viele in westlichen Gesellschaften glauben, dass der Begriff Kamikaze von japanischen Truppen für Piloten verwendet wird, aber der Name ist tatsächlich tokubetsu kōgeki tai oder Abkürzung tokkōtai. Der Selbstmordattentäter der Navy wurde auch Shinpū tokubetsu kōgeki tai genannt. Der US-Übersetzer zeichnet fälschlicherweise Kanji-Text-Transkription für Shinpū als Kamikaze auf. So wird die Verwendung des Begriffs Kamikaze von den Japanern nach dem Krieg weitgehend akzeptiert.
