Die Republik Kenia ist ein Land in Ostafrika, das im Norden an Äthiopien, im Osten an Somalia, im Süden an Tansania, im Westen an Uganda, im Nordwesten an den Sudan und im Südosten an den Indischen Ozean grenzt. Das Land mit 580.000 km2 hat 41 Millionen Einwohner, die größte ist Nairobi, die Hauptstadt. Die neue Verfassung von Kenia im Jahr 2010 ist das Ergebnis des Referendums. Kenia ist in 47 halbautonome Regierungsregionen unterteilt. Bis August 2012 werden Wahlen stattfinden, die erste unter der neuen Verfassung. Mount Kenya ist der höchste Berg und wird der Name des Landes. Der Begriff Kenia stammt aus der Kikuyu-Sprache. Kenia ist berühmt für seinen weitläufigen, schönen und attraktiven Safari-Bereich. Unter ihnen sind Tsavo National Park, Maasai Mara, Nakuru National Park und Aberdares National Park. Der Viktoriasee ist der zweitgrößte See der Welt. Der See gehört zwei Ländern, nämlich Uganda und Tansania.
