Selen
Selen, ein chemisches Element von Atom 34, ein chemisches Symbol Se und eine Atommasse von 78.96, ist ein nichtmetallisches Element, das chemisch mit Schwefel und Telurium assoziiert ist und selten in der Natur von Elementen in der Natur vorkommt. Getrenntes Selen wird in mehreren verschiedenen Formen gefunden, und die stabilste Form ist die halbmatte Form eines dichten grauen Metallstruktur-Trigon-Polygons. Selen leitet Elektrizität besser in Licht als Dunkel ab und wird dann für die Photosynthese verwendet. Selen existiert auch in vielen nichtleitenden Formen, wie einer schwarzen alotropen Zusammensetzung, sowie einigen Formen von rotem Kristall, die aus Molekülen von acht Mitgliedern des Rings resultieren. Selen wird in Sulfiderzen wie Pyrit gefunden, wobei Selen etwas Schwefel in der Erzmatrix ersetzt. Es gibt auch Mineralien in Form von Seleniden oder Selenverbindungen, die aber selten gefunden werden. Die Hauptverwendung von Selen ist heute die Herstellung von Glas sowie die Verwendung in Chemikalien und Pigmenten. Selen wurde auch in großem Umfang für die Elektronik verwendet, wird aber jetzt durch Siliziumhalbleitervorrichtungen ersetzt.
