Guano
Guano ist eine Substanz, die hauptsächlich aus Meeresvögeln wie Pinguinen oder Kormoranen besteht. Es ist ein sehr beliebtes Tier in der Landwirtschaft im 19. Jahrhundert. Trotz seiner natürlichen und organischen Herkunft gilt es als der erste künstliche Dünger in der landwirtschaftlichen Produktion. Nach 1840 wurde es definitiv mit den Anreizen von Justus von Liebig genutzt. Guano wird neben dem natürlichen Salpeter zur Herstellung von Sprengstoffen eingesetzt.
