Vandalen sind in den ostgermanischen Stämmen. Während des 5. Jahrhunderts während der Völkerwanderung waren die Stämme dafür bekannt, die verschiedenen Provinzen des Römischen Reiches zu plündern. Diese Provinzen sind Gallien, Galizien, Andalusien, Nordafrika und Mittelmeerinseln. Sie gründeten ein "afrikanisches Vandalenreich", das zwischen 439 und 533 sehr kurzlebig blieb. Der Theoderich, der König von Ostgoten und das Volk von Got, der König der Westgoten war, heiratete Vandallara. Die Häuser und Ursprünge der Vandalen sind nicht genau bekannt.
