A lipogranuloma, also referred to as an oleoma, lipid granuloma, elaioma, oleoscleroma or oil tumor, is a foreign body granuloma which forms in the form of a benign tumor following the injection or implantation of poorly resorbable hydrophobic oils or waxes. The cause for the development of a lipogranuloma is a local immunological response to the foreign body. Specific forms of lipogranuloma are paraffinoma, a foreign body reaction to injected paraffin, and vaselelina, a foreign body reaction on injected vaseline, but which have the same pathology. Irrespective of this, the terms paraffinoma or lipogranuloma are often used for lipogranuloma in Anglo-American literature.

Ein Lipogranulom, auch Oleom, Lipidgranulom, Elaiom, Oleosklerom oder Öltumor genannt, ist ein Fremdkörpergranulom, das sich in Form einer gutartigen Geschwulst nach der Injektion oder Implantation von schlecht resorbierbaren hydrophoben Ölen oder Wachsen bildet. Ursache für die Entstehung eines Lipogranuloms ist eine lokale immunologische Reaktion auf den Fremdkörper. Spezielle Formen eines Lipogranulom sind das Paraffinom, eine Fremdkörperreaktion auf injiziertes Paraffin, und das Vaselinom, eine Fremdkörperreaktion auf injizierte Vaseline, die aber die gleiche Pathologie aufweisen. Unabhängig davon werden in der angloamerikanischen Fachliteratur häufig die Begriffe paraffinoma oder lipogranuloma für das Lipogranulom verwendet.
