WHAT DOES OVERKILL MEAN IN GERMAN?

In the Cold War, the English term Overkill described the ability to destroy an enemy more than once and was intended to illustrate the meaninglessness of the nuclear conflict between the US and the Soviet Union. The Atomic Attacks were and are capable of destroying humanity many times through their vast quantities of nuclear weapons. In general, the "overkill capacity" is and is the measure of how often the enemy could be destroyed. The Overkill was an important part of the balance of terror. To illustrate the extent of the nuclear threat, the theologian Uta Ranke-Heinemann, in a speech in October 1981, asked the question of where to get the 100 billion people who could be destroyed by the explosive force. There was no shortage of weapons, but the people who could be destroyed by nuclear weapons were no longer sufficient. Statistically speaking, the gap between the active and the passive potential of annihilation is further and further divergent, says Ranke-Heinemann.
