My biggest frustration with the Heisman is it's become the MVP of the national champion, or a team going to the National Championship game. That's what it's turned into. If you're not undefeated, you're out of the running.

Champion

A champion is the victor in a challenge, contest or competition. Their champions can be accordingly styled, e.g. national champion, world champion. In certain disciplines, there are specific titles for champions, either descriptive, as the baspehlivan in Turkish oil wrestling, yokozuna in Japanese sumo wrestling; or copied from real life, such as the koenig and kaiser in traditional archery competitions in the Low Countries. Final Day of the 2009 season, Fitzroy celebrate their first championship in nine years. ▪ In 2014, two American high school hockey teams, Sylvania Northview High School and Saint Ignatius High School played a state championship game that went through three regulation periods tied at one goal a piece, and then seven subsequent overtime periods. After the tenth period, the game was declared a tie by the school athletic directors, the OHSAA, and the coaches.
