WHAT DOES DEPOLYMERIZATION MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Depolymerization

Depolymerization is the process of converting a polymer into a monomer or a mixture of monomers. Thioglycolysis, thiolysis and phloroglucinolysis are reactions used to study condensed tannins by means of their depolymerisation. Thioglycolysis is also used to study lignin. IUPAC definition The process of converting a polymer into a monomer or a mixture of monomers. Note: Unzipping is depolymerization occurring by a sequence of reactions, progressing along a macromolecule and yielding products, usually monomer molecules, at each reaction step, from which macromolecules similar to the original can be regenerated.

Definition of depolymerization in the English dictionary

The definition of depolymerization in the dictionary is the process in which a polymer is broken or decomposes into constituent monomers.
