The definition of hydrops in the dictionary is a swelling caused by excessive fluid in cells or tissues. Other definition of hydrops is a severe swelling of the entire body caused by excess fluid and accompanied by anaemia. It occurs in foetuses and newborns affected by haemolytic disease and is also called fetal hydrops or hydrops fetalis.
