WHAT DOES OUTWRITE MEAN IN ENGLISH?

OutWrite

OutWrite is University of California, Los Angeles' lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, pan-sexual, fluid, and ally newsmagazine. OutWrite, formerly called TenPercent, was established in 1979 and was the first LGBT collegiate newsmagazine in the nation. OutWrite provides coverage of political and social issues and events that occur in the LGBT community at UCLA and beyond. OutWrite was started by Clay Doyle, a UCLA student. The original name, TenPercent, was inspired by the research study Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, which found that 10% of males were predominantly homosexual. The name was later changed to OutWrite through a staff petition in 2005, claiming that the title was connected to a legacy of white, gay-male-centricity within the magazine. OutWrite is one of UCLA Student Media's seven student-run newsmagazines on UCLA's campus.
