WHAT DOES PRE-ECHO MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Pre-echo

Pre-echo is a digital audio compression artifact where a sound is heard before it occurs. It is most noticeable in impulsive sounds from percussion instruments such as castanets or cymbals. It occurs in transform-based audio compression algorithms – typically based on the modified discrete cosine transform – such as MP3, MPEG-4 AAC, and Vorbis, and is due to quantization noise being spread over the entire transform-window of the codec.

The definition of pre-echo in the dictionary is something that has preceded and anticipated something else; precursor. Other definition of pre-echo is a fault in an audio recording in which a sound that is to come is heard too early: on tape sometimes caused by print-through.
