WHAT DOES SUPEROVULATION MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation

Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation is the usage of fertility medication for the generation of multiple ovarian follicles. These multiple follicles can be taken out by oocyte retrieval, or be given time to ovulate, resulting in superovulation which is the ovulation of a larger-than-normal number of eggs, generally in the sense of at least two ones. Such ovulated follicles can undergo in vivo fertilisation. However, unless otherwise specified, hyperstimulation in this article will refer to hyperstimulation as part of in vitro fertilisation. In contrast, when referring to the reversal of oligoovulation or anovulation, the preferred term is rather ovulation induction.

Definition of superovulation in the English dictionary

The definition of superovulation in the dictionary is the act or instance of producing extraordinarily high numbers of ova.
