Ruprechtia salicifolia

Viraró is a dioic tree, native to South America. It is a perennial plant phanerogama of the polygon family. It reaches up to 4-6 m in height, trunk somewhat tortuous, very branched, lenticelas visible. The foliage is deciduous, with single leaves, alternating, lanceolate, 9-16 cm long, bright in the beam. Small male flowers, in terminal or axillary panicles; Female clusters. Flowering begins with spring. It has achene, rhomboid, chestnut, rimmed, periwined fruit. Fructifica in summer, with a remarkable presence that covers the crown of the tree, and matures in autumn. El viraró es un árbol dioico, nativo de América del Sur. Se trata de una planta perenne fanerógama de la familia de las poligonáceas. Alcanza hasta 4-6 m de altura, tronco algo tortuoso, muy ramificado, lenticelas visibles. El follaje es caducifolio, con hojas simples, alternas, lanceoladas, de 9-16 cm de largo, brillantes en el haz. Flores masculinas pequeñas, en panojas terminales o axilares; femeninas en racimos. La floración comienza con la primavera. Presenta fruto aquenio, romboide, castaño, acanalado, periantado. Fructifica en verano, con notable presencia que cubre la copa del árbol, y madura en otoño.
