Calé was discovered in 2001. It belongs to the group of Carmé, made up of irregular and retrograde moons that orbit Jupiter between 23 and 24 Gm of distance at an inclination of 165 °. She would derive her name from one of the Graces, daughters of Zeus; Calé would be the wife of Hephaestus according to some authors, although Aphrodite usually fulfills this role. v · d · Natural satellites of Jupiter Métis · Adrastae · Amalthea · Theb · Io · Europe · Ganymede · Callisto · Themisto · Leda · Himalia · Lysithéa · Elara · S / 2000 J 11 · Carpo · S / 2003 J 12 · S / 2003 · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · J 15 · S / 2010 J 2 · Herse · S / 2003 J 10 · Eurydomé · Pasithea · Chaldéné · Arche · S / 2011 J 2 · Isonoé · Érinomé · Calé · Aitné ...
