The count action is the use of the mathematical operations of adding or subtracting the value one. In this case, it is a count, usually used to know how many objects there are in a finite-size set, or to set aside a desired number of objects. Counting is also an operation performed by children or language students to show their knowledge of numbers. Counting sometimes involves numbers other than one; but simple numbers are generally used. There is archaeological evidence that humans have known for at least 50,000 years. The development of counting led to the development of mathematical notations and the numerical system. In ancient cultures, we have begun to keep track of economic data, notably to learn about agricultural production and raise taxes, for example in ancient Egypt.
