Having dinner
Dinner is one of the main meals of the day. Depending on the country and the time, it corresponds to different meals. In France, for example, it refers to the evening meal. However, this shift in the use of the term did not take place in all regions of France. Also, in the francophone countries: Switzerland, Belgium, Quebec, Acadia, "dinner" refers to lunch. "Dinner" and "lunch" have the same etymological origin, since they are both derived from the popular Latin disjunare meaning "break the fast", and thus constitute a lexical doublet.
