Percé stretches for approximately three kilometers between the Pic de l'Aurore and the Côte Surprise and is recognized worldwide for the beauty of its landscape and its built heritage. Percé is part of the MRC Le Rocher-Percé, in the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine administrative region. It owes its name to the rock Percé. Samuel de Champlain mentions this marvel as early as 1603 under the name "Isle Percée". Percé is a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec.
