Pester
Pešter is a karstic plateau in the south-west of Serbia in the Raška region. It lies at an altitude of between 900 and 1200 m. For the most part, the plateau is located in the municipality of Sjenica, with some extensions in the municipalities of Novi Pazar and Tutin. The name of the region comes from the word pešter, an archaic term for a "cave". The Pešter Plateau includes the protected area of Peštersko polje, which has been listed since 2006 as a Ramsar site for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands.
