The senses and their functioning, their classification, and the epistemological theory that supports their study are subjects tackled by several disciplines, mainly neurosciences, but also cognitive psychology, and all philosophies pertaining to perception. It is generally established, since Aristotle, that man has five senses, this being for all that false.
