Rose of Birsay [Brough of Birsay] UK Islands on the north coast of Scotland, Orkney Islands, Mainland Island North West Bank. It is about 260 meters from the main island and can be reached on foot only at low tide. In the 5th century it was thought that Christian missionaries resided, in the 7th century the Pict people built a fortress and under the rule of the Normans in the 9th century. The ruins of houses and monasteries built from the 9th century to the 13th century remain. バラ‐オブ‐バーゼイ【Brough of Birsay】 英国スコットランド北岸、オークニー諸島、メーンランド島北西岸の島。本島から約260メートルの距離で、干潮時にのみ徒歩で渡ることができる。5世紀にはキリスト教伝道師が居住したと考えられ、7世紀にピクト人が要塞を築き、9世紀にノルマン人の支配下となった。9世紀から13世紀にかけて建造された住居や修道院の廃墟が残っている。
