Bergina 【Vergina】 Northern Greece town. In the nineteenth century, the ruins of the first capital of the Kingdom of Macedonia (Aigai) were found near this town. A palace with many mosaic patterns and more than 300 tumulus groups were discovered, one of which was supposed to belong to Philippos II. It was registered as a World Heritage (cultural heritage) as "Ancient ruins of Bergina" in 1996, and it was renamed to "Ancient ruins of Ege (present name Bergina)" in 2007. ベルギナ【Vergina】 ギリシャ北部の町。19世紀に、この町の近くでマケドニア王国の最初の首都エゲス(アイガイ)の遺跡が発見された。モザイク模様を多用した宮殿と300を超す古墳群が発見されたが、そのうちの一つはフィリッポス2世のものとされている。1996年に「べルギナの古代遺跡」として世界遺産(文化遺産)に登録され、2007年に「エゲの古代遺跡(現在名ベルギナ)」に名称変更された。
