Piazza Armerina - Southern Italy, Sicily, Sicily autonomous state town. Located in the hills of the central part of the island. Ancient Rome colonial cities were set up and developed as a key point of transport connecting Italy and North Africa from the 1 st century to the 5 th century. The current town was built by Norman rule of the 11th century. It is known that there is an ancient Roman villa Vilaromana del Casale, which is registered as a World Heritage (cultural heritage) in the suburbs. ピアッツァ‐アルメリーナ【Piazza Armerina】 イタリア南部、シチリア島、シチリア自治州の町。同島中央部の丘陵地帯に位置する。古代ローマの植民都市が置かれ、1世紀から5世紀にかけてイタリアと北アフリカを結ぶ交通の要地として発展。現在の町は11世紀のノルマン人支配により建設された。郊外に世界遺産(文化遺産)に登録された古代ローマ時代の別荘ビラロマーナ‐デル‐カサーレがあることで知られる。
