Studied under Mitsuaki Takamura and participated in the revival of the Japan Art Institute. It is a realistic style with many colored wood carvings. Receiving the Order of Culture. Work "Mirror Shishi" etc. ひらぐし‐でんちゅう【平櫛田中】 [1872~1979]彫刻家。岡山の生まれ。本名、倬太郎 (たくたろう) 。高村光雲に師事し、日本美術院の再興に参加。写実的な作風で、彩色木彫が多い。文化勲章受章。作「鏡獅子」など。
