Giovanni Battista Piranesi (October 4, 1720 - November 9, 1778) is an Italian painter and architect of the 18th century. It is also known as a print depicting the scenery of Rome. I am from Venice. He went to Rome in 1740 and proceeded with the research of ancient ruins under the support of the papacy.
