Boyana Church 【Boyanska tsarkva / Боянска църква "It is about 8 kilometers southwest of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, a church of the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria at the foot of Bitosha. It was considered to be founded around the 11th century, and thereafter it consists of three cathedrals expanded in the 13th and 19th centuries. The fresco painting remaining in the central St. Panthelemon's shrine was known as a masterpiece of medieval Christian art in Eastern Europe and was registered as a World Heritage (cultural heritage) in 1979. ボヤナ‐きょうかい【ボヤナ教会】 《Boyanska tsarkva/Боянска църква》ブルガリアの首都ソフィアの南西約8キロメートル、ビトシャ山麓にあるブルガリア正教会の教会。11世紀頃の創建とされ、以降、13世紀と19世紀に増築された三つの聖堂からなる。中央部の聖パンテレイモン聖堂に残るフレスコ画は東ヨーロッパにおける中世キリスト教美術の傑作として知られ、1979年に世界遺産(文化遺産)に登録された。
