E-Japan 【E-Japan / E-Japan】 A general term for a series of strategies and policies related to utilization of information and communication technology promoted by the Japanese government. Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori announced its vision in 2000 (2000), aiming to realize a knowledge-emergent society where all citizens can actively utilize IT and enjoy its benefits. In 2001 (2001), IT strategy headquarters established in the Cabinet set up the e-Japan strategy and priority plan with the goal of becoming the world's most advanced IT nation within five years. Various measures such as establishment of high-speed Internet network and e-commerce market, realization of e-government, etc. were taken. イー‐ジャパン【E-ジャパン／E-Japan】 日本政府が推進した情報通信技術の活用に関する一連の戦略・政策の総称。すべての国民がITを積極的に活用し、その恩恵を享受できる知識創発型社会の実現を目指すもので、平成12年（2000）に森喜朗首相が構想を表明。平成13年（2001）、内閣に設置されたIT戦略本部が、5年以内に世界最先端のIT国家となることを目標に掲げ、e-Japan戦略・重点計画を策定。高速インターネット網や電子商取引市場の整備、電子政府の実現などさまざまな施策が講じられた。
