Catania Daughter 【Catania Cathedral】 "Duomo di Catania" Cathedral in the city of Catania in southern Italy, Sicily, Sicily autonomous province. The official name is Santagata Cathedral. Festivals the patron saint Agatha of Catania. Constructed by Ruggero I of County Sicily at the end of the 11th century. It suffered great damage by the large earthquake at the end of the 17th century, and only the back side was kept as it was originally built. In the 18th century, a Baroque facade and a bronze altar were built by Sicilian-born architect Giovanni Battista Baccarini. In addition to frescoes depicting the eruption of Mount Etna, there is a tomb of composer Vincenzo Bellini. カターニア‐だいせいどう【カターニア大聖堂】 《Duomo di Catania》イタリア南部、シチリア島、シチリア自治州の都市カターニアにある大聖堂。正式名称はサンタガタ大聖堂。カターニアの守護聖人アガタを祭る。11世紀末、シチリア伯ルッジェーロ1世により建造。17世紀末の大地震で大きな被害を受け、後陣のみ建造当初の姿を留める。18世紀にシチリア出身の建築家ジョバンニ=バティスタ=バッカリーニによりバロック様式のファサードやブロンズ製の祭壇がつくられた。エトナ山の噴火の様子を描いたフレスコ画のほか、作曲家ビンチェンツォ=ベッリーニの墓がある。
