Nilgiri Mountains "Nilgiri Mountains" Hills in the southwestern part of Tamil Nadu, southern India. It extends east from south of the West Ghats mountain range. Average altitude about 2000 meters. The highest point is Mount Dodabetta (altitude 2637 m). It means "blue mountains" in Tamil. In addition to being known as the famous place of tea, coffee, highland vegetables are cultivated.
