Zappion [Zappeion / Ζάππειο] An international conference hall / exhibition hall located in the heart of Athens, the capital of Greece. Built in the 19th century by Danish-born architect Théophile-von Hansen. In a well-balanced neoclassical style building, Corinthian columns are lined up in the main entrance. It is located in the Zappion park spreading to the south side of the Athens National Garden and the name comes from the fact that the Zappas brothers who were instrumental in hosting the Athens of the modern Olympic Games were funded in the construction of these buildings and parks.

ザッピオン【Zappeion／Ζάππειο】 ギリシャの首都アテネの中心部にある国際会議場・展示場。19世紀にデンマーク出身の建築家テオフィル＝フォン＝ハンセンの設計で建造。均整のとれた新古典主義様式の建物で、正面玄関にコリント式の列柱が並ぶ。アテネ国立庭園の南側に広がるザッピオン公園内にあり、名称は、近代オリンピックのアテネ開催に尽力したザッパス兄弟が、これらの建物や公園の建設に出資したことに由来する。
