Sakuma Shōzan 【Sakuma Elephant Mountain】 [1811 ~ 1864] Scholars at the end of Edo period. Shinano Matsushiro clan. The name is Reinah \u0026 thinsp; (Hiraki) \u0026 thinsp ;. Initially he pursued Zhuji school, later Ranakhi, claimed to enhance national strength through the ingestion of Western science and technology, but was assassinated in Kyoto by the 攘ies school. There are Katsuhideki · Yoshida Matsue and others in the gate. さくま‐しょうざん【佐久間象山】 [1811~1864]江戸末期の学者。信濃松代藩士。名は啓 (ひらき) 。初め朱子学を、のちに蘭学を修め、西欧の科学技術の摂取による国力の充実を主張したが、京都で攘夷派に暗殺された。門下に勝海舟・吉田松陰らがいる。
