Definition of シティー‐パレス in the Japanese dictionary
City Palace - Palace in Jaipur, city of Rajasthan Province, northwest of India. It was built around 1730 by Jai-Shin II of Jaipur clan Kingdom. Reddish sandstone is used and it is known as a central building in the Old Town, also called Pink City. Maharaja still lives now. There is a Mubarak Mahal (now a textile museum) designed by British architect Samuel Jacob as a guest accommodation facility. シティー‐パレス【City Palace】 インド北西部、ラジャスタン州の都市ジャイプールにある宮殿。1730年頃、ジャイプール藩王国のジャイ=シン2世により建造。赤みがかった砂岩が用いられ、ピンクシティーともよばれる旧市街の中心的な建物として知られる。現在もマハラジャが居住する。英国の建築家サミュエル=ジェイコブが、賓客の宿泊施設として設計したムバラクマハル(現在は織物の博物館)がある。
