Sweden (Sweden, Swedish: Konungariket Sverige), commonly known as Sweden, is a constitutional monarchy state located on the Scandinavian peninsula in northern Europe. Norway in the west, Finland in the north east, Denmark across the Catgat Strait in the southwest, and the Baltic Sea from the east to the south. The capital city is Stockholm. In Swedish it is called Sverige (Sverige), which means the country of the Svea. The current royal family is the Bernadotte family. The Nobel Prize by the Swedish Academy has worldwide authority. In the King 's succession to the throne, it is a custom to express his rule as a motto.
