Cornelius · Tacitus (Cornelius Tacitus, around 55 to 120) is a politician and historian of the Roman Empire. Individual names are said to be both Pubilus (Publius) and Gaius (Gaius), but either is unknown and is usually written with the exception of individual names. He was one of the historians representing ancient Rome with Salvatius, Riuus and others, known as a writer of the so-called latin literary Shirogane period.
