Kenichi Kanichi 【Tanigawa Kenichi】 [1921 ~ 2013] Folklore scientists. Born in Kumamoto. After serving as the first editor in chief of Heibonsha's magazine "Taiyo", I was influenced by Kunio Yanagida and Nobuo Orikuchi and repeated research and explored the Japanese view of death and the world. Showa 56 (1981) Established the Japan Geographical Name Institute. Heisei era 2007 (2007) Cultural meritorious person. Author "South Island Literature Occurrence Theory", "Refugee to the People", etc. たにがわ‐けんいち【谷川健一】 [1921~2013]民俗学者。熊本の生まれ。平凡社の雑誌「太陽」の初代編集長を務めた後、柳田国男や折口信夫の影響を受け研究を重ね、日本人の死生観や世界観を探求した。昭和56年(1981)日本地名研究所を設立。平成19年(2007)文化功労者。著「南島文学発生論」「常民への照射」など。
