Developed in the handicraft industry from the 17th century to the 19th century. After independence from the Ottoman Empire, renamed to Dobrich. It was Romanian territory from 1913 to 1940. In the Communist Party period after the Second World War, it was renamed to Trubuhin from the name of the former USSR soldier Fyodor Tolbuhin, but again in 1990 it became the old city name Dobrich. It is famous as the place of producing wine.
