Tulcea 【Tulcea】 Eastern city of Romania. Facing the branch of the Danube river mouth the Turcia River. In the 1st century BC ancient Greek colonial city was built, followed by the ancient Roman Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire, the Bulgarian empire, and the Republic of Genoa. It is a key harbor for water transport connecting the Danube and the Black Sea from ancient times, and prospered as a trading port also in the Ottoman Empire era.
