WHAT DOES 백자주자 MEAN IN KOREAN?

백자 병형 주전자

The white porcelain kettle is the bottle-shaped white porcelain kettle in early Joseon period. The mouth of the body is slightly widened, narrowed from the shoulder to center at the bottom of the torso, attached to a high-heeled main stem and handle, and a saliva-type lid rests on it. A hook was made next to the upper part of the handle and the lid so that they could be tied together. White porcelain is painted evenly on the front side of the white freckle, and the white porcelain and handle are milky white and appear to have been made of other soil. The edge of the bend is rounded like a stone, and there are traces of baked sand. It is supported by a high bend that it was used as a teapot for ceremonial ceremonies. It is presumed to be a white porcelain that was elaborately and finely baked in the Domariyo and Mujagiri areas since 1467, when the temple was established as an official fraud factory in Gwangju.

백자 병형 주전자는 조선 초기의 병 모양 백자 주전자이다. 몸체의 입부분이 약간 벌어지고 어깨에서 벌어져 몸통 아래에서 중심을 이루었다 좁아졌다가, 높은 굽다리를 지닌 에 쭉 뻗은 주구와 손잡이를 부착시키고, 연봉형의 뚜껑이 얹혀 있다. 손잡이 위쪽과 뚜껑 옆에 고리를 만들어 서로 묶을 수 있도록 하였다. 백자 유색은 담청을 머금은 백자유가 전면에 고르게 칠해졌으며, 주구와 손잡이는 유백색을 띠고 있어 다른 흙으로 만들어 붙인 것으로 보인다. 굽다리 가장자리는 돌대처럼 단을 이루었고, 모래받침으로 받쳐 구운 흔적이 남아 있다. 제사 등 의식용의 술 주전자로 사용되었음을 높은 굽이 뒷받침하고 있다. 광주에 관영 사기공장으로서 분원이 성립된 1467년 이후 도마리요와 무갑리요 등에서 정교하고 세밀하게 구운 왕실용의 백자로 추정된다.
