Bezaia
Bejaia is a city in the northeastern part of Algeria, the capital of the province of Bejaia and bordered by the southern coast of the Mediterranean. The population is 187,076. Oil produced through pipelines buried in Hashimasawood oil fields is exported, but iron ore and wine, fig trees and plums are also exported. It was famous as a port city in Carthage and ancient Roman times. In the 1st century Vespasian period, it is regarded as an important city in the province of Mauritania, and it prosperes. In the 5th century, they were invaded by the Germanic and Vandalese tribes, and the 11th century Berbers inhabit them. It was captured by the Ottoman Turks in the 16th century and became a colony of France in the 19th century. In 1962 Algeria became independent and became the territory of Algeria.
