The Legislation is the central administrative body of the Republic of Korea that oversees the laws and ordinances and treaties to be proposed to the Cabinet, the review of the Prime Minister 's Decree, the Decree of the Decree, and other matters related to the legal system. On October 2, 1961, the Legislative Office of the State Council was reorganized and established. The head of the agency shall be referred to as a vice ministerial level official. In the past, there was a legislative body, which is a central administrative agency that oversees the affairs of the foundation and deliberation of laws and ordinances submitted to the Cabinet. It was launched on July 17, 1948 and was abolished on November 29, 1954, as it was reorganized into the Legal Division of the Ministry of Justice.

법제처는 국무회의에 상정될 법령안·조약안과 총리령안 및 부령안의 심사와 그 밖에 법제에 관한 사무를 관장하는 대한민국의 중앙행정기관이다. 1961년 10월 2일 국무원 사무처 법제국을 개편하여 발족하였으며, 세종특별자치시 도움5로 20 정부세종청사에 위치하고 있다. 기관장은 차관급 정무직 공무원으로 보한다. 과거에 국무회의에 제출하는 법률·명령안의 기초·심의에 관한 사무를 관장하는 중앙행정기관인 법제처가 존재했었다. 1948년 7월 17일 발족하였으며 1954년 11월 29일 법무부 법제실로 개편되면서 폐지되었다.
