Cheongju Baseball Stadium
Cheongju Baseball Field is a baseball field located in Sajik-dong, Seowon-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea. Since 1986, it has been used as the second home stadium of the Korean professional baseball Hanwha Eagles. During the Korean professional baseball season, nine games are played with the home game of the Hanwha Eagles. It was opened in May 1979 to host national sports events. When it was first opened, there were about 10,000 seats, but in 2008, a large number of seats were reduced to 7,500 seats, including a back seat in the outfield. After the renovation of the new zone, the number of seats increased to 10,500. In this baseball game, there is a competition each year between schools with baseball clubs in Chungcheongbuk - do. Cheongju baseball field is aging and security system is weak because 9 out of 63 regular season home games of Hanhwa Eagles are held here. In 1990, professional baseball game was not held because of national sports.
