Korea Sports Council
The Korea Sports Council is a specialized corporation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism established as the Korea Sports Council and established as the predecessor of the Korea Sports Council on July 13, 1920 to contribute to national development and national culture development through the nationalization of the athletic movement and the training of excellent athletes. It is another public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism which supervises and directs amateur sports organizations in Korea. It is located at 424 Songpa-gu Olympic Road, Seoul. It will host the National Athletic Conference, which will be held in opposition to the Republic of Korea. The Korea Olympic Committee is a member of the Korea Sports Council and exercises its own decision-making power. It is possible to organize amateur sports groups such as cities, provinces and overseas branches by sports events centered on Korea Sports Council. Currently, there are affiliated organizations for 57 sports, and 7 for sports. On June 29, 2009, the Korea Sports Council and the Korean Olympic Committee, which were separate organizations, became fully integrated into the Korean Sports Council.
