Atlantic Ocean
The Atlantic is the second largest ocean in the world. The Atlantic Ocean is surrounded by South and North America, Europe, Africa and Antarctica, with a total surface area of 164 million square kilometers. This sea occupies about 1/5 of the surface of the earth. Atlantic 'Atlantic' comes from the Atlas of Greek mythology, which means 'sea of Atla'. The first name to be found is the history of Herodotus around 450 BC. In ancient times, the phrase "Ethiopian sea" was also used, which came from Ethiopia and its seas, which were also referred to throughout Africa. Until Europeans discovered other oceans, "ocean" was the expression of the vast ocean over the western Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, and the word "ocean" was derived from the name of the great river Okeneos, which the Greeks believed to surround the world . The Atlantic stretches vertically in an S-shape between the American continent in the west and Eurasia and Africa in the east.
