Duaren
Duren is a city in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Population 92,820 people. It is located on the banks of the River Lure, a tributary of the Mas river flowing from the Netherlands. The Celts were called the Situation for the first time, and then the Germans settled down but were conquered by the Roman Empire. It was important in the way to Cologne, the Roman city. From the 8th to the 9th century, it developed in the Frankish kingdom of Pippin III and Charlemagne. After that, the walls were built, and in the thirteenth century, the city was acquired. It was later destroyed by various wars and became part of the Rhineland of Prussia in the 19th century. From the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century it became a rich city with the development of industry, but it became a major air strike target of the Allies in World War II and was almost ruined. It is now a major city between Aachen and Cologne, not far from Luxembourg, Belgium and the Dutch border.
